OUR STORY
Apparatus acquisition
In order to keep up with the growth in our area we have started adding newer larger more capable apparatus to the fleet. Last year we added a 1994 Pierce engine with a 1250 gpm pump and 1000 gallon tank. We also added the first UHP system in the county. It is mounted in the responder truck. This unit allows quick arrival of water for smaller fires preventing them from damaging more property. It delivers 7 gpm at 1400 psi. It has been on multiple fire since being put in service. Our most recent truck is a 1999 e-one ladder truck with 75 ft of vertical reach. It has the ability to apply water from negative angles. With this we can flow greater volumes of water for large fires.
Automatic aid
The fire service is an ever evolving service. In order to increase our ability to respond with enough manpower and experience we have partnered with other departments to create the Battalion one response team. This group consist of five neighboring departments. While we have always had mutual aid this group’s focus on automatic response to fires and wrecks has help decrease property loss. The group responds to an area of 130 square miles. With a population of around 18000 people. We help each other with training along with responding to calls from outside the primary home coverage areas of the group. The group typically responds with multiple engines and tankers. The mission of the group is to provide the best service we can provide as quickly as we can.
