Automatic Mutual Aid
The fire service is an ever evolving service. In order to increase our ability to respond with enough manpower and experience, we have partnered with other local departments to create The Battalion One-Response Team. This group consist of five neighboring departments.
While we have always had mutual aid, the focus of The Battalion is on automatic response to fires and wrecks - which has help decrease property loss. The group responds to an area of 130 square miles, with a population of around 18,000 people. We help each other with training along with responding to calls from outside the primary home coverage areas of each department. The group typically responds with multiple engines and tankers. The mission of the group is to provide the best service possible - as quickly as we can.
